About Epsom Judo Club

Epsom Judo Club is a friendly and vibrant Club where individuals thrive. Our approach focuses on giving our students a strong set of technical skills in a challenging environment with outstanding coaching and support. We are a Club where a real energy and enthusiasm abound.

We are a BJA Club, which means that we follow the BJA grading syllabus. The grading syllabus is the set of techniques and skills that the BJA expect a student to learn for each of the different coloured belts. This means that all our students have the opportunity to grade and with hard work and commitment a student can go from a white belt all the way to a black belt. All our coaches are fully qualified and insured through the BJA.

We have a very strong squad of players who regularly compete. We offer specific classes and squad sessions for those players who want to compete regularly. We provide many of the players for the County and Area teams. Again with hard work and commitment our students can go on to compete at the highest level. We also have students who go onto become coaches themselves, stay at the Club to coach and inspire the next generation of new students.

We want all our students to be focused, confident and hard working. We achieve these aims as a Club by:

  • Providing a well balanced and challenging experience for all students.
Technically we follow the BJA grading syllabus but all our classes are challenging and fun.
  • Creating opportunities for leadership and excellence.
We want to create an environment in which all our students have the opportunity to achieve their goals. Whether that is grading for a higher belt, competing at a higher level or going on to become a coach.
  • Fostering a lifelong love of Judo.
We want to inspire and empower students for life. We want to encourage students to always keep learning and developing whatever their age or ability.
  • Ensuring relationships are based on mutual respect.
At the core of what we do as a Club is the drive to foster a hard working, disciplined environment where all students strive to support one another. Bullying or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
